PR MAGNUM AWARDS

The business of Toastmasters is communication. We help develop communication skills of the individuals. But, to attract and retain the Toastmasters, we put the same communication expertise to best use  by communicating to the wide world about ourselves.

We, in District 79 wish to stimulate the intellect of the clubs under our district --we have awards in different categories. We believe the healthy competition among clubs for the best PR achievement challenges them to find the courage to change;   also the clubs have an opportunity to tap the sub-surface reservoir of creative talent from among its diverse members.
 
The Panel of Judges comprise of leading professionals, from the home grown Toastmasters of District 79, Expert executives from the PR agencies will also be co-opted. The judges will ensure that entries are reviewed according to the criteria mentioned and established.

These awards are unique in their efforts to shine the spotlight on the campaigns that define cutting-edge thinking and the leaders that are driving the public relations personnel of the clubs, Area and divisions forward.

So, if you believe your work’s resonance has achieved real and a compelling relationship with your members and the community and deserves recognition, we are waiting to hear from you, with bated breath.

District 79 recognizes and rewards the best communication achievements by Toastmaster Clubs. The following awards are available for grabs: CLICK ON EACH AWARD TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT

1. Talk of Town Award  (Best article in external Media or Club Area Division Newsletter)
2. Platinum Web Byte Award  (Best Website Award)
3. Beat the Drum Award  (Best Poster/Invite Award)
4. Captivating Communiqué Award  (Best Newsletter Award)

General guidelines  

a. For qualifying for selection, the Article / Poster/Flyer or Newsletter must have been published in the concerned Toastmaster year, that is from July 1st to April 30th.  See separate rules regarding websites.
b. Applications duly filled in the attached formats, along with the contending PR Achievement must be submitted not later than May 30th by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
c. The applications must be made by club Vice President (Public Relations) and also countersigned by the club President.
d. A panel of judges appointed by District 79 PRO, will adjudge the best PR Achievement in each category as above. The decision of the judges are final.
e. The winning entries will be awarded during DTAC. Awards are presented once a year.
f. In each category a maximum of 3 awards will be given, based on the number of nominations received. (except in case of newsletters where 5 Awards will be given)
g. Awards will be in the form of Plaque and Ribbon. Winning entries will earn mention in District 79 Hall of Fame.
h. Awards are presented to single achiever. Not to be shared.

  1.  Talk of Town Award 

Content: Must be of relevance to Toastmasters movement, aimed at promoting the movement.  Should have been published during the Toastmaster year as said above.
Qualifying Author: Any Toastmaster of good standing
Preferences: Articles published in external media, not controlled by Toastmasters will be given priority to in-house publications.

2.  Platinum Web Byte Award

Content: The content must promote the Club/Area/Division goals and the Club/Area/Division in general and Toastmasters International goals including speaking, communication, and leadership. Articles must be appealing to any reader, especially to non-toastmaster general public
Objective:  Good layout, design and  navigation are very important.
Qualifying Author: Any Toastmaster of good standing

3.  Beat the Drum Award

Content: An excellent promotional poster clearly conveys a message about Toastmasters & the club to the audience. This message should be simple (consisting of one idea), readable & well designed
Objective: Club Posters which effectively attract & persuade new members to join as well as existing members attend the meetings.
Qualifying Author: Any Toastmaster of good standing

4.  Captivating Communiqué Award

Content: The content must promote the Club/Area/Division goals and the Club/Area/Division in general and Toastmasters International goals including speaking, communication, and leadership. Articles must be appealing to any reader, especially to non-toastmaster general public
Objective: Good layout and design are also very important.
Awardees Clubs producing the best news letter.
No of awards : Five awards.
